Janakpur is also known as Janakpurdham. It is 120km far from Kathmandu. It is situated in the Terai Region. It is in the Province No 2. It is just 20 km from India. Janakpur is the Sub-Metropolitan City in Dhanusa District. The Climate of Janakpur is humid  Sub-Tropical. The Janakpur is religiously very important to Hindus.

This Land is birth Place of Sita(Ram’s Wife). Ram is believed to be the incarnation of Lora Vishnu and Sita is believed to be the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi.

This holy place of her marriage with Lord Ram. In the Janakpur area, there are more than seventy Ponds so it is also known as the City of Ponds. Janakapurdham is one of the best places to visit in Nepal’s Eastern Region.

After visit In this Place, I found there are diverse ethnic groups live in this Place such as Teli, Yadav, Brahmins, Rajput,

Chhetri etc. They live as the core inhabitants of the Villages around Janakpur and their main occupation is Farming.

This Place Mostly follows the Mithila art and Culture so Mithila art and culture prevails in this region.

The Janakpur Mandir is a Hindu Temple built in 1911. This is the Indian Rajput style of architecture.
